
Ingredients:
-1 tbsp oil
-Whole spices: 2 bay leaves, 3 cloves, 6 black peppercorns, 2 sticks of cinnamon, 8 coriander seeds, 1 star anise,
-1 tsp cumin
-1/2 tsp hing or asafetida
-4 tomatoes
-overnight soaked, drained and rinsed chickpeas(if using canned just rinse them out)
-1/2 tsp red chilli powder
-1/2 tsp turmeric powder
-1/2 tsp coriander powder
-black salt to taste
-1 tsp garam masala
How:
-Once the oil heats up add in the whole spices, cumin, hing and roast
-Add in diced tomatoes followed by red chiili, coriander powder, turmeric and black salt
-Toss in the chickpeas and cook till they’re easily mashed up with a spoon.
-Enjoy with rice or roti.
